Don't feel too bad for me, because in true Yashy style, I went from Walmart to the Ritz. You save some so you can spend elsewhere! If you're stuck on holiday shopping ideas, be sure to pop into a Walmart store for some inspirations, they not only carry good socks and the best diaper deals, but they also have some fun hostess gifts, gorgeous jewellery and some of the cutest baby clothes out there!
Didn't get anything for the husband but I found the cutest shoes for the little one and could not resist buying two pairs. Impulse buys are great when they don't break the bank! While definitely not how I'd usually envision spending a Thursday evening, it was the perfect break to pick up some holiday items that was getting pushed to the bottom of my to–do list!
As for the husband…well let's just say that I got distracted by the Christmas ornaments, warm fuzzy slippers and the fantastic toys that were on offer. In true Walmart style, things were on roll back and I knew that I would get the best deal there; I mean come on… who else would have lower prices?
My favourite part was the PhotoCentre, they not only print whatever you need within the hour (most items), but also carries a range of frames and picture ornaments. Of course I didn't have any pictures on me, but luckily I was able to log into my Facebook account and print out a gorgeous shot of the little one…slap on a frame and Hey! Presto! Gift for Grand Ma! Sure to win points!
A cart all to myself with a challenge of finding a gift for my mother-in-law and my husband. I would never have thought to hit up Walmart for gifts. Groceries, household essentials …sure. Gifts? Really? I'm glad the Walmart crew put this challenge my way because I was shocked at what I found there!
We received a personal tour of the Walmart store near Sherway Gardens which definitely helped me get a good lay of the land. Living in the city, a Walmart excursion makes me giddy with excitement and becomes the focal point of my weekend. It's a bit of a trek for us to get to a store and involves a car rental because I tend to stock up on everything when I make these excursions every four months. This time I had no husband rushing me, no baby nagging for a change, or a mom piling my cart with things I don't need. No, on Thursday it was just me.
A night out at Walmart. I bet that's not something you'd expect to hear from an events reporter! However last Thursday that's exactly what I did! A couple bloggers were hand-picked to attend a night out at Walmart and I found myself in the last place I'd expect to be on a Thursday evening. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely ladies hosting us who handed us a gift card and asked us to pick a shopping challenge. I love a good challenge!
